Go Sabres! Playoff time bitches.

I have been playing hockey since I was four years old, just like my Dad, and just like my Dad’s Dad. It’s in my blood. Ever since I moved to San Diego, the lack of hockey in my life has weighed more and more with each passing winter season—despite San Diego’s lack of any form of a winter feel. On this most recent trip home to Buffalo, my parents managed to get me GREAT tickets to what turned out to be a GREAT game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, aka the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Sabres are off to a great start this year, and this game proved they’ve once again got what it takes to potentially go all the way. In this video you’ll see my view of Drew Stafford’s successful penalty shot while the Sabres were down 3-0 in the second period. As you can hear by the roar of the crowd, this goal gave the Sabres the spark they needed to scored 3 more unanswered goals and obtain a victory over the Pens. After the game I realized that the last game I was at was the outdoor Winter Classic game against Pittsburgh in 2008 making this victory even more meaningful for me.

With all that said, I brought all of my hockey equipment back to start playing in pick up games held a few times a week right here in sunny San Diego—can’t wait to hit the ice!
