Some awesome photography of a great new restaurant and bar in Buffalo, NY—Vera Pizzeria. The atmosphere is really unique and it has a beautifully designed interior. The food is “italian-italian” not “american-italian”. And the drinks come with a single giant ice cube and are made in a pre-prohibition style. If you’re ever in Buffalo, make sure to check this place out. More photos here.

Chicago has won me over in just one visit. I ate Rick Bayless’ restaurant Xoco, my meal was so good, I ordered another to-go. I drank many drinks and met some great people. Took in the view from the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower (Sears Tower). I saw the Blackhawks win at the United Center and laughed my ass off while watching Louis CK at the exquisite Chicago Theatre. Although the 3 days seemed endless, it was way too short of a trip. All the more reason to head back soon rather then later.
On the way to work today, I thought to myself - “I’ve never posted anything Johnny Cupcakes, I should give the site a visit”. What do I find at the top of the page, Mug Shots. If you haven’t checked him out, do so, online will do but his actual stores (LA + Boston) are unreal! He’s gotta be one of the most creative people out there.
I started a (fun) new blog over the long weekend called “The Buffalo Menu”. After years of almost always ordering “Buffalo inspired” dishes at restaurants throughout the country, I thought it would be fun to photograph, document, and rate each dish and then share it with the world. In order to show just how far Buffalo’s famous chicken wings reach has gone, I’m also asking other to send me their photos/info to get featured on the site. I’d love to get your weekly recommendation if possible!
