Great piece from Design Sponge’s Before & After section.

I had to force myself to stop looking at Design Sponge’s “Before & After” category so I could get back to work. I’ve been watching a lot (and by a lot, I mean way too much) HGTV home/interior shows, and after seeing this, I’m really inspired to do some “makeover” projects. I think I am going to start small on a lamp or something, and then possibly do something with my Eames Lounge (replica) that could use a remix.

At first I thought the popularity of Best Made Co’s “Urban Ax” was absurd. But after reading the New York Times article on them and founder Peter Buchanan-Smith…I’m slowly being swayed. I also didn’t know they came in this nifty little box, the brand of Best Made Co. is also perfectly minimalist (look at the tag). That said, I don’t think I have the audacity to spend $220 on an ax I’d likely never use. It would look nice sitting out somewhere though…
