New Mark Weaver print…want to buy it, but after his North American Wildlife - Bison print (originally only $65) set me back $200 to be custom framed…I just don’t think I can do it.
Look everyone, we got our copy of Logo Lounge 6 with our Okapi logo in it! Great milestone for Queen City Studio.
Cool print by Orka Collective for sale on the Whale and Pine site.
BFLO Series - Connecticut Street Armory
Also known as the 74th Regimental Armory, the Connecticut Street Armory is a historic National Guard armory building located at Buffalo, New York. It is a massive castle-like structure built in 1899 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
This is Queen City Studio’s interpretation of the Chrysler ‘Imported from Detroit’ Super Bowl ad. The commercial was amazingly well done and since Buffalo has so much in common with Detroit, it immediately hit home. It’s not every single line from the ad, and some things are tweaked to work better for Buffalo and for the sake of fitting in the dimensions of the poster.
Again, this is just my interpretation of the Chrysler ad—I’m not sure how or who to credit!
Hey everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. QCS stayed busy and reformatted our site a bit. Unfortunately there isn’t too much new work to share, but we’re presenting a lot of the work differently now. Go poke around for a bit!
Cutout collages by Tony Kuchar, love this one—for obvious reasons!
Great photo of an abandoned Sunoco, by David at FixBuffalo.

For all those who don’t know, Design Detox is the official blog of Queen City Studio—a Buffalo, NY based design studio. Our goal is to “Reinstate Buffalo as a manufacturer of quality through the practice of good design”. I’ve posted this video before, but just watched it again and I wanted to share it again because in a way it helps tell the story of QCS and why we do what we do. For anyone who thinks they know Buffalo or anyone who doesn’t know Buffalo—enjoy.

We’ve been interviewed on Buffalo Rising, which is a huge honor. We hope everyone will take a few minutes and enjoy!
The BFLO series has been featured on ISO50! I’ve been going to the ISO50 site for years now. I think before there the, now extremely popular, blog existed. Big thanks to Jakub for the recognition—great way to start my 26th birthday off!
Queen City Studio is pleased to announce that our new blog design is up and running! It’s nothing crazy, we just wanted to put our own twist on the great Scaffold theme we’ve been using. If you’re reading this in your Tumblr dashboard, be sure to check our actual blog out. If you’re already on the blog, we hope you like what you see.
Big thanks to LukesBeard, who developed this bad boy for us!
